Ibstock has a long history dating back to the 1830s when the clay extracted from the Ibstock Colliery was converted into Bricks.

Today Ibstock Brick has over two thousand employees working at their thirty-six manufacturing plants in the UK.

Ibstock Brick History

• 1928

Ibstock closed its Colliery and focused on Brick Products

• 1970s

Acquisition of several Brick Makers and Expansion into Europe and the USA

• 1980s

Ibstock Brick Purchased its first Brick Works in Scotland

• 1990s

Acquired Brickmaking assets of Tarmac

• 2000s

The Ibstock Group returned to the London Stock Exchange as Ibstock Plc.

Brick-Making Process

Ibstock Brick's huge range is manufactured through two processes

Wire Cut Bricks

Clay is extruded to the correct size, and wire is used to cut the Brick, which is then dried and fired in a kiln.

 Soft Mud Bricks

Clay and Water are mixed, placed in a mould and Dried before being fired in a Kiln.

Ibstock Bricks are used for Outside Walls and Construction Projects throughout the UK, and the different types of Bricks include
