In these days of Part L compliance, every little helps to make the British building industry as sustainable as possible.
When you require a standard-duty internal door steel lintel for your masonry wall there are three possible contenders, each of which is a good choice.
The Catnic BSD 100 comes in the manufacturer’s signature black powder coating and can be insulated within its core if required. Available from 900mm to 4800mm they are always available in stock.
The Stressline SL100BOX will provide good value for money and is available in a range of standard sizes up to 5100mm, for those wider openings.
Birtley makes a standard-duty steel internal wall/door lintel, the SB100 which is suitable for various tough conditions. It can take heavier loadings than other standard-duty steel lintels, which makes it a good, economic choice if you don’t need to go heavy-duty.
That said, always check load tables to ensure you order the correct duty lintel.
The Catnic BHD100 is a proper tough guy, capable of carrying a full wet masonry load without propping. When you have to make positive progress, then this is a top steel door lintel to choose for your internal wall.
Galvanised, and with powder-coated protection, it can also be used for external wall situations.
The Stressline SL100BOXHD internal steel lintel can be used at the eaves level when fully insulated and is a good lower-cost, high-performance selection.
The Catnic BDX100 will take on your most demanding loads up to 2700mm across an opening. These super-durable steel internal lintels are also designed to be reused as lintels and they are fully recyclable at the end of a building’s life.
The Stressline SL100BOXXHD range is made to order and requires a three-week lead-in from request to delivery. A good example of how you can profit from planning ahead!
If you require further advice, our expert team will be happy to help. Phone or email for help with specifications, ordering, and lead-in times, or to discuss logistics and potential delivery kerbside to your job.
