For all your general weatherproof sealing and expansion joint filling jobs the Everbuild Tecnic Silicone 825 sealant is ideal for almost all applications. It is odourless and low modulus neutral curing silicone conforming to ISO11600 class F25LM and G25LM when tested to ISO11600.
A Joint Mastic for All Applications
Tecnic 825 adheres to a wide range of substrates, both porous and non-porous, without the need for a primer.
Its slow curing time means that you have plenty of time to work the final finish to get a clean and tidy tooled effect.
- Superb adhesion levels to standard materials including metal, plastics, glass, and timber.
- Ideal for use on soft metals such as zinc, copper, and lead. Can be used with aluminium in glazing and curtain walling applications.
- Ideal for use on construction plastics such as uPVC, PVC, plastic trims, plastic soffits and cladding, and polycarbonate.
- Ideal for use on painted, varnished, or unfinished timber.
- High viscosity level, meaning it will not slump, but will retain shape on long vertical joint applications.
- Excellent external weather resistance, ideal for exposure to coastal or other challenging environmental factors.
- Ideal for use in roofing situations, on parapets, and in other locations where a robust sealing detail is required.
- While a primer is not always required, it is recommended that a localised patch test is carried out ahead of time to ensure compatibility with expectations.
- For best performance, prior to application, all surfaces must be free from dust, or other contaminants.
Be Aware:
Everbuild Tecnic Silicone 825 is a good all-round, comprehensive sealant for general use. However, there is a limited range of materials that it is incompatible with.
Do not use with bituminous materials such as asphalt, neoprene, or elastomeric materials. Do not use it on aquarium projects or areas below a water line, either permanently, or for any temporary period.
825 can deteriorate if exposed to general plasticisers, hydrocarbons, or solvents, and cannot be painted over once cured. The colour it is, is what you get.
