The landscaping timber selection is a great quality range of treated softwood and oak that takes care of any budget, or aesthetic requirements. There’s even a good stock of rustic sleepers for an established, aged look too.

The Sleeper Selection

Oak Sleepers

Let’s start at the top with the oak sleeper. This is an A-grade timber product that you know will last for decades to come. If your project is at a listed building or is an older property with all the charms that centuries of weather have delivered, then oak, a traditional British building material, is the way to go.

Oak sleepers are 100mm x 200mm x 2400mm (8” x 4” x 8’) and are heavy and robust enough to be used as retaining walls.

Pine Sleepers

Pine sleepers are treated with the Tanalith-E compound that binds itself to the timber at a molecular level making it super-resistant to rot. They come pre-cut at 2.4m and 1.2m to make for easy assembly and handling on site.

All our sleepers are inspected by our dispatch teams before they leave our depot to ensure that they are in great shape.

Colour Choices

They may look bright and new when they arrive, and the special treatment can sometimes give them a little bit of a green tinge, but exposure to the elements sees them soon settle down to a natural pine finish. Nevertheless, they are ready to take any stain, oil, or dye treatment and the Tanalith-E will not affect how it works with the timber.

If colour is an important issue these sleepers also come with a brown finish after treatment. There’s no difference in the quality of the product or the anti-rot Tanalith product used and they are also available in 2.4m and 1.2m.

Weathered Sleepers

Finally, Wade also has a range of weathered, reclaimed-look railway-type sleepers that do look like the part, and may well fit into that old-world aesthetic that your client is asking you to achieve. Stock is limited so do get in touch by phone or email first to find out what we can offer you.

Decking

Paving is great, but to switch things up, perhaps there’s a level change that masonry can’t cope with, then there’s a huge amount of decking in stock in three standard sizes, 3.6m, 4.2m, and 4.8m, ready to be hand selected and delivered kerbside direct to your landscaping project.

Fence Posts
